I must agree with you Mrs. Buck Daddy. It is so much fun to play Santa in my house and I think I will always at least stuff stockings for my kids even when they are grown.

I taught my kids that Santa is fake, but it is different for us. I have also taught them not to go around telling the other kids that he isn't real. It hasn't always worked, but we do what we can.

I teach my children about Santa and I do believe. I think it's wonderful for children to have something to believe in, some kind of magic. It's even nice to have parents have some hope and magic to believe in! I love this post and have to agree with both you and MommaDJane. I have a 3 year old this year too, and he hasn't asked too much yet about Christmas but it IS his first year to realize it's Christmas time and to know Santa is coming, he is actually really fun this year about the whole magic of the season!

Cool topic. This is the time to enjoy them. They do grow up so fast, and as they grow older, the imaginary things seem to be so silly to them. Don't blame your wife for thinking that way.

Interesting that you wrote about this today. TechyDad also did something similar on his blog. We have been trying to figure out as a Jewish family what to do when our sons ask/hear something at school.
