Copper Young Festival Review, Google taking over the world,

by BuckDaddy on September 15, 2008

So I spent a lot of time at The Cooper Young Festival. The majority of my time was spent on the corner of Cooper and Young, where the radio tent was. I did wander around for awhile and ran into a lot people.

I met Downtown Paul, Gates of Memphis, and Fancy Webs. Had good conversations with all of them and made some connections. The way I found most of them using Twitter. I missed Jen Sized, Karson with a K (although we have met before) and E.C. Matthews. I also saw a bunch of people from work and couple of people I haven’t seen in awhile. All in all it was great time. I think they way over shot the 60,000 estimated people. I ate lots of fair food and drank some beer, totally shot my diet.

My friend OneHalfAmazing has a good article about how Google is taking over the world. Okay he says that they are readying to launch a social platform like MySpace and Facebook, I say they are taking over the world. Read about it here.

Sunday, I met a couple of wrestlers at Stereo One. They were pretty cool and I was amazed how the switch back into character when the fans are around. You can click here to see the ones I met.

So that was my weekend. I have a pretty packed week with TV visits in twon for work, Donuts with Dad at Danni’s school, board oping for two Cardinals’ games, Friends of St. Jude meeting, Sarah Lacey at Launch Memphis, CBHS High School Football Game, and a Birthday Party.

I am exhausted just from writing it. I will be later today or tommorrow with an advice question I need as a parent?

Google has already got a social networking site, it just doesn’t seem they’ve made it a priority yet. Here:

@sig. Yes, google already has a social network. What I’m talking about us a platform that incorporates social tools and services into all areas of google. Bringing down the walled gardens of these individual networks us what I feel they are working on.
