Wicked Lottery at Orpheum Memphis, We are going to Wicked

by BuckDaddy on June 23, 2009

I got Chelsea tickets to Wicked at the Orpheum. We have tickets way at the top but as Chelsea put it, “At least we are there.” Chelsea is so excited because she is reading Tony Award–winning singer-actress Kristin Chenoweth’s book A Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love, and Faith in Stages. Kristin Chenoweth is on one of favorite shows (now canceled)Pushing Daisies. Kristin (see how I use her fist name as if we are bffs) help developed the character of Glenda the good witch in Wicked when it was on Broadway.

Wicked is at the Orpheum from June 24 to July 12. There will be a day-of-performance lottery for tickets each day. 2 1/2 hours prior to showtime, people who show up at the Orpheum’s box office will have their names placed in a hopper. Then about 30 minutes later, names will be drawn, and each winner will have the option to purchase 1 or 2 orchestra seats at $25 each, until all 20 seats put up for lottery have been sold. So if the performance begins at 7:30, you’d want to be at the box office at 5 to get your name in the lottery.

I paid a lot more than that for upper deck seats. I doubt I will do that because I have already put down some serious cash for the ones way up there. My only problem with going to see Wicked is I don’t fit in seats at the Orpheum.

I heard a rumor that there was some seats with extra leg room but when I inquired about it at the box office, they had no clue what I was talking about. If anyone from the Orpheum is reading this and knows about the myth of extra leg room seats please email me at buckrogers79@gmail.com. I would love to know where they are so when I go see shows there I can buy in that section.

Have fun at Wicked and let me know how it is. Jules really wants to see it so I have a feeling that I am going to see it soon.

Have fun!!

You know what? I've heard about "extra leg room seats" too, but thought it was just a myth. They would have come in handy for Blues Clues LIVE. lol

Buck–I am glad that you are going to see Wicked. I hope you and your wife have a great time. So far the reviews have been wonderful.

As for the extra leg room seats that is techinically a rumor. We do have Box Seats which have more leg room simply because there is no row in front of you so you don't have to worry about your knees being in the back of someones seat.
