Barbasol Review and Giveaway

by BuckDaddy on April 20, 2009

For years, I have been using an expensive gel to shave with. I have never exactly been happy with it. I just used it because they sent me a free sample when I turned 18. the problem is that it is not cost efficient for my budget.

Pricey shave creams also may come with pricey problems. The thickness of the cream was clogging my razor cartridge forcing you to change blades too frequently. Rinsing my blade under warm water after every stroke is one way to help reduce this problem, another is to switch creams. I switched to Barbasol® Thick & Rich Shaving Cream.

The iconic barber-pole striped can of Barbasol Shaving Cream with its “beard busting” creamy formula delivers a close, smooth, pampered-feeling shave – at under $1.50 a can! Does anyone else remeber that they used Barbasol cans to smuggle the dinos eggs off the island in Jurassic Park . It rinses cleanly off your razor which helps extend the life of the blade. There are four formulas to choose from, Barbasol Shaving Cream Original , Barbasol Shaving Cream Soothing Aloe , Barbasol Shaving Skin Conditioning Cream, and Barbasol Shaving Cream, Pacific Rush. For the cost of one popular upscale shave brand, you can probably buy six cans of Barbasol.

What I think: After I made the switch, I really couldn’t tell the difference between my old cream and this one. It produces a thick cream and had zero nicks. For the cost of one can of the old stuff I can get about 6 cans of Barbasol which will last me awhile.

Giveaway: Since you can buy about 6 cans of Barbasol for the cost of some other brands. I am going to be giving away 6 cans of Barbasol so one lucky winner. Here’s how to win.

I love the original. We actually go through a lot of Barbasol at our house, but not just for shaving… we use it for sensory play. My daughter is have sensory issues and shaving cream is a perfect messy activity!

My dad used this when I was growing up (I think), so it reminds me of him. I am sure my mom just bought whatever was cheapest, but you can never go wrong with the original!
