Monday update, weekend review, writer’s block,

by BuckDaddy on September 8, 2008

I having a blah day. In Office Space, they call it having a case of the Mondays. I had a great weekend but I have nothing to write about. I didn’t come up with one single thing this weekend to write about. So I guess I’ll write about the weekend.

Friday: Chelsea and I moved in a bunch of boxes out of the garage and almost every single piece of furniture we own. The brakes on Chelsea’s car have gone out and her car is about to die. It needs a new engine but the cost of that is so expensive we might as well buy a new car. If you have been driving around town and see a woman cramped in the back seat of a Ford Ranger that is us. Chelsea’s says it is like being in an aquarium and now knows how it feels to be a fish.

Saturday: I woke up early to go to the Germantown Fest. I spend the next two days and this festival. It was great weather on Saturday. Perfect tailgating weather. Too bad I was in Germantown instead of Toby Field. They estimated that 63,000 people came by in two days. I had a good time hanging out with the folks from Germantown News.

I eventually made it to the game. Toby Field was packed. We didn’t even make it to our regular tailgate spot because they were so many people there. I sat on the 50 yard line on the visotrs side and enjoyed the heartbreaker of a game. Sitting on the 50 yard line spoiled me and makes me want to be rich so I can afford to sit there evry game. I really thought we were going to win but alas 1:05 left and we choked. I listened to the post game of 600 AM and they said they didn’t want to have the fire the coach show but that is all callers were saying. Funnies comment: “If this keeps up, I’ll start rooting for TN.”

Sunday: Went back to Gtown Fest. After shaving the mohawk, my head is very bald. Note to self: Make sure to aplly sunscreen to top of head because you will get a sun burn and it will hurt. Picked up a couple of CDs, I’ll listen to them and let you know what I think of them. I watched the running of the weenies for a moment or two but was looking for more mayhem and mauling. I don’t like dogs and this festival was not the place for me. Looking foward to Cooper Young because they don’t allow pets.

I did get reconginzed twice for my blog at the game for two different reasons. One reconginzed me because of the stories about my family and the other because I blog about East Memphis. The 2nd person reads Paul’s Blog and discovered me via his blog. Which brings up something I have been wondering about. Do you read this blog because I blog about being a father and husband and my family life or do you read it because I blog about Memphis? Should I blog about more what is going on around town?

So after typing all that, I guess I don’t have writer’s block. I am still having a blah day though.

I read to hear about you and your family. If Memphis events play a part in that, great, but if not then I could care less to read about them on here. I am sure othe people will say the total opposite, but sometimes it is good to get away from the craziness that is in this city and read/see something good and funny going on in someone’s life.
